What's more fun than picking up that sweet 12 thousand dollar lottery prize? How about learning that you've actually won over $12 million?
On Tuesday, Ken Garbe was told he had won $12,000 in the Lotto Super 7. Without his glasses, Garbe couldn't see the numbers himself, so he believed the lottery retailer at Park Royal Mall who checked his ticket.
It's a pretty enviable mistake to suffer. Not only do you get the initial rush of excitement from winning a sizeable (though not life-changing) sum of money, but once you've taken that day to come to terms with your good luck, you get the surprise news that you're actually rich and now able to retire. Sadly, Ken Garbe's decision to leave the Vancouver school board could not have come at a worse time for an educational system in distress. Who will support the teachers as they attempt to instruct the next generation of lottery retailers on how to distinguish between the numbers 12,000 and 12,000,000?
