When people fill out their brackets (just for fun, right? I mean, office pools are ILLEGAL!), it is amazing how many just look at the higher seed and pick based on that many times. The reality that the higher seeds lose even as early as the first round DOES happen--but does it happen that much? It depends on the year, but consider that no number #1 seeds have ALL made it to the same final four. But what about #2 seeds? While no #1 seed has ever lost a first round game, it certainly has happened to several #2 teams. So the #3 top NCAA prop bet is.....
Which #2 seed will go the farthest?
Tennessee 11/4
Texas 5/2
Duke 5/2
Georgetown 5/2
This is a tough one, because these teams are extremely good--especially Tennessee. But they actually drew #1 seed in the tournament in their bracket curiously enough with North Carolina. If I were a betting man, I would actually go with Texas, much in due part that if they can get by the first two rounds, they will then have the opportunity to play in Houston (TEXAS) for a chance to go to the Final Four in....San Antonio. It's one of those things that if you consider the potential advantage of having a huge crowd, Texas certainly has that possibility.
