Top NCAA Proposition Bets: #2

NCAA_logo.jpg

Every year in the NCAA tournaments, there are always upsets--always. Some are absolutely monumental. Take, for example, George Mason, who was a double digit seed and made it all the way to the Final Four in 2006. While this is not always the case--there has only been one other double digit seed besides GMU that has made it to the Final Four (LSU), you can always count on some big "March Madness". One curious thing that seems to happen is what is known as the 5-12 curse--more often than not, there seems to be at least one 12 seed that moves on past the first round every year, and it is the seed that is most successful overall as a double digit seed. So...the next best prop bet is:

How many #12 ranked seeds (Villanova, George Mason, Temple, Western Kentucky) will win a first round game during the March Madness 2008 Tournament?

0 9/4
1 13/10
2 51/20
3 15/2
4 50/1

Of course, the most favored odd is that 1 team will pull the upset, and--will you look at that? George Mason is one of them, but the hip pick has been both Temple and Villanova, even though 'Nova is playing a Clemson team that has been on a roll), so this is definitely a very interesting bet.
