The Pamela Anderson empire continues to flourish. Never satisfied resting on her laurels, my fellow Canadian has lent her name, some video and series of racy photos to an online venture labelled obviously enough as pamelapoker.com. Joining the pantheon of historic gambling venues ranging from Caesar's Palace to Monte Carlo is another fine example of corporate synergy dedicated to preying on the lust of their core audience.
The opening video lands somewhere between cute and sad. Cute because they do make a play for humour and she's cool enough to not take herself too seriously. Sad because the forced tone of the cue-card reading comes from a women who at least theoretically makes her living as an actress.
I'm not sure if her participation lends some credibility to an arena where some operators are decidedly sketchy or if it just makes the whole site laughable. What I do know is that I wouldn't want to be the next guy to handle the mouse after some teen spends an afternoon playing on the site while flipping through the items in the photo gallery.
