Sandown jockeys questioned in potential betting scandal

Stewards at Sandown (Australia) have started to question jockeys as they may have potentially bet on racing.

According to the "rules of racing", the jockeys, who have not been named, can bet on sports like cricket, football, and others, but not on racing. Evidently the stewards have stated that they cannot go on record for any findings, but that the investigation will continue.

Obviously this raises concerns about the integrity of the races, so it will be interesting to see what happens and if there will be public furor over obvious fixed races and the money that they will demand back. Actually, I'm surprised that the jockeys bet on their races, considering I didn't think they could reach the counter. :)
