Sahara to have new owner

SBE Entertainment, based out of Los Angeles, has agreed to purchase the Sahara Hotel and Casino for a deal worth between 300-400 million dollars.

The Sahara, a north end strip hotel and casino, has been in existence for 55 years and has fought off the modernization of Las Vegas, standing the test of time that many other casinos, like its former neighbor Stardust, have succumbed to.

While SBE is only set to operate the hotel and nongaming operations of the Sahara, it has been said that it will go through a major upgrade in amenities that are sure to bring in several more consumers than have been there in the past. Currently, the state board has preliminarily approved the deal in lieu of SBE's licensure within the gaming industry. One thing is for sure--anything is better than what this rundown shell of a place is now. Despite the NASCAR cafe and "Speed the Ride" being there, the Sahara has been an afterthought in Vegas for a while now. This is a great move!
