Operation: All-in Charity Poker Tournament

ian.jpg

Scott Ian, who is better known for his head banging onstage with Anthrax, has partnered with Ultimatebet.com to sponsor a charity poker tournament entitled "Operation: All-in". The event is to assist in raising money for America's injured soldiers.

Last year, the Anthrax guitarist traded his guitar chips for poker chips to play in VH1's Rockstars of Poker. He finished first in the event, beating out Sully Erna of Godsmack and winning a seat in the 2007 UltimateBet.com Aruba Poker Classic tournament. Now he'll face a bevy of stars and athletes in the 150 person/$550 entry fee tournament, which has a prize pool of 50 grand. The rest goes to the charity foundation (minimum then of 32,500).

Ultimatebet.com stands to really benefit with partnering for this kind of event. It's been normal to have online gamers involved in straight up WSOP events and other celebrity things, but the charity events have sometimes been few and far in between. Hopefully other sites will take note and begin following suit (no pun intended).
