Odds to win the AT & T Classic

rl_att_classic.jpg

Bookmaker.com has released the odds for the AT & T Classic, a great golf tournament that uses match play to crown a winner. While match play presents a situation where a player doesn't necessarily have to be on fire the entire tournament (just better than his competition), there are certain players that seem to shine in these types of events. The odds are listed below:

STEWART CINK +1000 - -
RETIEF GOOSEN +1300 - -
ZACH JOHNSON +1600 - -
BEN CRANE +2000 - -
BRINY BAIRD +2500 - -
DAVID TOMS +2500 - -
STEVE FLESCH +3300 - -
RYUJI IMADA +2500 - -
KENNY PERRY +3000 - -
CAMILO VILLEGAS +2500 - -
JOHATHAN BYRD +3300 - -
HEATH SLOCUM +3300 - -
STEVE ELKINGTON +4000 - -
LUCAS GLOVER +4000 - -
NICK OHERN +4000 - -
BRIAN GAY +5000 - -
NICHOLAS THOMPSON +5000 - -
BUBBA WATSON +5000 - -
JJ HENRY +5500 - -
TROY MATTESON +5500 - -
DEAN WILSON +5500 - -
JOHN ROLLINS +6000 - -
KEVIN SUTHERLAND +6000 - -
THE FIELD ( ALL OTHER PLAYERS ) +100

I'm kind of surprised that Watson is as high as he is, evidently the books don't have much faith in his match play abilities, eh? Well, I suppose they don't have much faith in anyone in particular--I don't know the last time I have seen where the field players have 10 times better odds than the most-favored individual.
