Golden Palace Casino's Pope-mobile on Ebay

The "Pope-mobile", once owned by Pope Benedict XVI, who was also known as Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, is up for sale on Ebay, with the proceeds going to benefit the Habitat for Humanity in Britain.

Back in 2005, the Golden Palace Casino had purchased the 1999 custom Volkswagen Golf from Ebay as well, adding to its list of already seemingly-odd purchases of famous items. According to the casino's sources, even though they have been in possession of the item for 2 years, it has not been driven at all and has almost 46000 miles on it.

The auction is set to end on April 10, and the current bid amount is over 200,000 dollars. The former owner, Benjamin Halbe, stated that he was, "happy that it is on sale for a good cause".

However, it needs to be noted that the vehicle has changed since Halbe sold it--Golden Palace has stuck advertisements and pictures of the Pope all over it (you can't get away from ads!)
