Gary Kaplan, Online Sportsbook Founder, Finally arrested

The FBI can finally rest. Gary Kaplan is in custody.

Ever since the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed, Kaplan has been as hard to find as Bin Laden. David Caruther, BetonSports CEO, was not so lucky way back at the end of 2006. Following this capture, there were several indictments handed down on more BetonSports officials, including Kaplan. Of course, after the disapearance of Kaplan, there were some pretty wild allegations of questionable activity from previous "under the table" issues, as well as even discussions about mob ties!

But--all good things must come to an end--and Kaplan was apprehended in the Domican Republic with US Officials and the FBI. Carruthers, who is currently in Cincinnati, is now awaiting a court hearing and is out on--wait for it--1 million dollllllllarrrrrs--bail. Kaplan has 20 felony charges awaiting him now that he is in custody. I wonder what the odds are that he'll beat them?
