Garrett hosting charity poker event

bradgarrett2.jpg

Brad Garrett certainly turns heads when he walks in the room. At almost 6'9" and a funny man to boot, he certainly knows how to get attention--and he's using it in the right way. An avid poker player who has represented BoDog on the celebrity poker tour, Garrett now has decided to host a charity poker tournament in Los Angeles.

The proceeds of the tournament will go to a great cause--the 1736 Family Crisis Center, which is dedicated to providing help and services to abandoned youths and domestic violence victims. The center is funded wholly by grants and donations. The event will be held on April 20th at Hollywood Park.

This tournament does have some big names in it--Ray Romano, Jennie Garth, Anthony Anderson, and more. The winner gets 10 grand and the second place winner gets a spot in the 2009 WPT Celebrity Invitational. Not a bad take, and again, using a game that people love to play for a great cause--you can't get any better than that.
