Some addictions are just staggering in terms of the drain it takes on a person and their family. Alcohol can not only take a person's health, but can ruin relationships. Drugs can take both money and everything listed for Alcohol. However, nothing is as financially crippling as gambling addiction, because the very soul of why it exists is because of the continual losses gamblers continue to suffer.
In a case of a mother from the United Kingdom, it meant her plundering her grandparents' account for money--137,000 in fact. Susan Metcalfe, a mother of six, even kept stealing the money as her grandfather, William Richardson, suffered indelibly with health issues.
No word on what game was her weakness, but it had to be something of an online poker or slot machines, I would certainly think, those games that keep on begging you back and are easy to fall under the gambler's fallacy that you can always "win it back".
