Full Tilt Poker joining instant eChecks wave

Pokerstars came out with it in August. And now, Full Tilt Poker is doing it too. Is it a new game? A new twist online for players? No, not that exciting--it's joining the instant eCheck market, which allows players to deposit their money directly to their playing accounts via EFT. There hasn't been any reported glitches for Pokerstars with it, so this may be something we see in the future from several other sites.

However, this poses a bit of a problem in terms of the problematic "responsible" gaming. At least with the past ways of having to do a lot of things manually and even possibly having to wait for money to be put in over a certain amount of time, EFT could drain people's checkbooks literally faster than they could fold a 2-7 offsuit.

It follows the debit card theory of financing--the more you just swipe a card, the less you are likely to put value behind the money it represents--this could be a great thing in terms of convenience, but it could also create not only more addiction problems, but also could open up another arena for identity theft.
