I know I post a lot of things about different political and entertainment bets, but am I advocating any one really to do these? Not so much. For one, I just like to really see what the odds are for a given event, but to bet on it? Nope, not gonna do it.
Why? Because for one, you are betting against a field of things--is the payoff good? Absolutely. But is the risk higher than the reward? Yup. It's kind of like the Publisher's Clearing House--you're really never guaranteed anything, and playing the lottery is very similar as well. Exotic bets are purely sucker bets, and even for those that may have a heavy angle towards something, it still in the end is not worth it. Take your money and bet against something of value and of more concrete understanding--like chance and skill games or sportsbooks.
Sure, it livens things up, sure it gets the juices flowing for things that aren't necessarily all that and a bag of chips. But it's really just throwing good money after bad. I will almost guarantee if you enter money on 10 exotic bets that you will lose 8 of 10, and to get 2 of them would be exemplary.
Ok, I'm done. Removing soapbox....
