Gambling is illegal in many countries, and is a very hot button in the United States. Most countries have their own ways of policing activity from within their country, but then there are cases where the governments struggle to get a handle on things of a virtual nature, so they turn to others for help in curbing the "problem".
Such is the case with the Netherlands, who has not been able to stop the juggernaut online gambling circuit within their country's walls, so in an effort to team up and stop the activity, they have now asked the banks within their country to not do business with the online operators and approve their transactions, much like the action that has taken place in the United States.
The government has developed a short list of 30-50 of the biggest operators there and have been steady in saying that even though the banks are being asked, they will not be forced to do so at this time and they will not be responsible for monitoring the actions of the "list", only to merely make an effort to stop things as much as they can.
So then the question is---what's the over/under for when the banks actually do get forced to do so? :)
