Britney Spears' $500 sandwich

The GoldenPalace online casino just added to its museum of oddities by purchasing a half-eaten egg salad sandwich for $500. Apparently, partial consumption by a mildly fallen pop star does wonders for a sandwich's self-esteem. One can only wonder what the value of a Britney Spears half-eaten steak may be.

I'm not surprised by the purchase. I've previously marveled at the brilliance of GoldenPalace's marketing campaign, whereby they receive an exponentially large amount of press for winning these ridiculous auctions. What's more depressing is that other people made bids.

In total forty three bids were placed for the vacuum packed sandwich before it was purchased by the Golden Palace Casino.

Presumably these people are both sadly and ridiculously obsessed...or they just don't have easy access to eggs.
