Annual Responsible Gaming Week Kicks Off

The 10th Anniversary of the Annual Responsible Gaming Week on the casino floor at Caesars Atlantic City marked the official start of the week. The annual event was developed in 1998 as part of the Responsible Gaming National Education Campaign, a long-term, comprehensive program spearheaded by the American Gaming Association (AGA).

In this, the AGA and the NCRG are working together nationwide to coordinate activities occurring during RGEW 2007. Individual casinos and gaming companies are incorporating additional creative ways to provide education and training and increase awareness about responsible gaming to their patrons in an effort to lower gambling addiction rates.

The theme for this year's event is called "Responsible Gaming: In your own words" and held a contest for essays describing how to effectively be responsible gambling, either online or at casinos. 15 winners were selected.
