American Idol Updated Odds

After the startling dispatching of American Idol contestant Michael Johns, who at a minimum should have finished in the final four of the TV reality show, the good people over at Intertops.com have released updated odds below:

Brooke White 19.00
Jason Castro 19.00
Carly Smithson 21.00
Syesha Mercado 36.00
Kristy Lee Cook 51.00

The fact that Archuleta still is the favorite is not a shocker--in fact, he could be one of the first American Idols who has basically been a slam-dunk winner from the get. Cook is a strong contestant but probably doesn't translate into a powerhouse based on not having a strong tweener demographic. Other than that, the rest of the contestants are pretty weak; I am actually surprised that Smithson has lost as much steam as she has over the last few weeks odd-wise. Cook seems to have staved elimination more times than anyone else in the show's history.

The show certainly won't have any drop in ratings with cutey-pie Archuleta continuing to croon, but my suggestion for those who maybe don't watch the show--skip the rest, you're better off doing something more constructive.
