American Idol Prop Bets Announced

AmericanIdol.jpg

Where there is reality TV, there is usually betting. Why? Because just like sports or anything else that can be bet, it is generally due to a competition that doesn't give clear cut results or "advantages", so therefore online gambling sites generally will start offering proposition bets for the entertainment genre almost as soon as the show is "ready". In this case, we're talking about American Idol, who just announced the Top 24 contestants after a grueling audition season (even for the watchers who had to endure some of the most strange characters ever).

On Bodog, there has been several proposition and exotic bets that have sprung up for the juggernaut show, that has really dominated TV ratings for quite a while. Such things you can bet on: The age range of the winner, what state the winner will come from, if a contestant will sit on Simon Cowell's lap during a performance, which celebrity will appear first as a mentor for the contestants (Surprisingly, awful singer Sanjaya Malakar is an option--talk about a sucker bet), and many more.

As the show surges on, expect for the normal bets (if you can call them that) to emerge, including being able to bet on individual contestants to win it all. One thing is for sure--the uncertainty of the competition over the past several years (Taylor Hicks was told by Simon when the Top 24 was announced that there was no way he would win it--and promptly did), including the impact that such anti-American Idol websites like votefortheworst.com has on the competition are sure to make some long-shot bets winners.
