After envious draft and trades, Pats are odds on favorite

The New England Patriots made some bold moves during the offseason--and may not be done. But even if the Pats make more moves, none will be as bolstering as the one they did trading for WR Randy Moss, who gives QB Tom Brady the first legitimate game-breaker as a receiver that he's had since donning the Patriots helmet.

Beefed up by a good draft as well, the Patriots are the odds-on favorite to win Super Bowl XLII, to be played in Glendale, AZ. While the Patriots did not appear in the super bowl this year, they were within one drive of beating the eventual champion Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship. Bookmakers also have the AFC as the heavy favorite to win, despite which team it is, as the top three odds on teams are from the conference (New England, Indianapolis, and San Diego). The top NFC pick are the returning NFC Champions Chicago Bears at 13-1.

At the bottom of the heap is the Oakland Raiders, a huge underdog at 126-1. While Oakland made a staunch move in drafting LSU QB Jamarcus Russell, oddsmakers obviously don't think the rookie phenom will get "Da Raiduhhhs" anywhere close to Glendale.
