Academy Awards Odds: Best Actress

Another one of the major awards for the Academy Awards, to be held on February 24th, is Best Actress. Normally this is a fierce competition, and this season is no different. From different movies ranging from "Juno" all the way to "La Vie En Rose", the performances from each of these leading ladies is something to take note of. As you can see from the different movies, the vast majority are either period pieces or fancy-schmancy oscar-made roles. I personally think Ellen Page's performance in Juno was absolutely fabulous--I truly believe she will end up being an iconic figure based on this, sort of a cult classic much like those characters from "The Breakfast Club" will always be (yes, I am showing my age). However, I think Christie is really getting the heavy favorite nod, and while I will probably never see all of these movies due to the fact that I do need to stay awake at some point in my life, I am sure they are all well-deserved :)
